Add a serial or lot number to a part or tool

You may be required to apply serial or lot numbers to either parts or tools in a step.

Note

Your Teamcenter administrator determines which parts and tools require serial or lot numbers.

Prerequisites

• You must install the MRO template.

• You must attach the parts logistics form to the item.

• You must set the lot number and serial number property to true in the parts logistics form.

• You must set the EWI_ExecutionEnabled value to TRUE. In addition, you must add EWI_ExecutionEnabled to the AWC_StartupPreferences in the Teamcenter rich client.You must configure the preference to display the lot number and serial number property in EWI. Procedure

1. Display the Part or Tools list table view, and review the Quantity column for any packed lines with values greater than 1.

2. Select each packed line and click Unpack .

The line is unpacked into separate lines, all of which share the same find number.

3. Select the line for which you want to add a serial or lot number.

4. To enable editing mode, click Start Edit.

Double-click any serial or lot number to edit it directly. To give the same number to multiple parts or tools, drag the value to the desired part or tool.

Tip The edit option is only active when a part or tool requires a serial or lot number. If it is dimmed, the part or tool does not require a serial or lot number.

5. Click Save. Alternatively, after editing a value, click anywhere outside the field to automatically save the changes.

6. Select one of the unpacked lines and click Pack .
