Configure data with a variant rule defined at the sub-level

To configure any structure in Easy Plan, you can use variant rules that have been saved locally.

The root structure is used as the owning variant item by default, which means that the sub-level data lists the root structure's global variant rules. For this configuration, you find a local object and apply a locally saved variant rule for that object to a sub-level structure.

Procedure

1. If you have not done so already, search for and open an existing work package and navigate to the BOM Alignment, High Level Planning, or Process Planning page.

2. Click the Plant BOP configuration header. Teamcenter Easy Plan displays the Plant BOP Configuration panel.

3. Select an object with locally saved variant rules, right-click the selection, and choose Copy to copy it to the clipboard.

4. In the Variant section, click on the icon shown in the Saved Variant section. Teamcenter Easy Plan opens a new section of the Plant BOP Configuration panel.

5. Click the Search tab and type the Item ID for the object associated to the saved variant rule you want to apply, and then click Search.

6. Select the correct item from the search results or the Clipboard.
   Teamcenter Easy Plan opens the Plant BOP Configuration panel.

7. In the Variant section, click the No Variant Rule list, select a variant rule to apply, and click Configure. Teamcenter Easy Plan:
   
   Changes the owning variant item.
   
   Applies the locally saved variant rule.
   
   Updates the Plant BOP configuration header to list the applied variant rule.
