Create new resources

Create new resources using Manufacturing Resource Library (MRL).

Procedure

1. Click Manufacturing Resource Library on the MRL dashboard Launcher or Navigation Bar.

2. On the MRL dashboard work area, select More commands →New →Create Resource on the primary toolbar.

Note You can use Create Resource when a resource is selected in one of the following: Resource or Tree content view in Manufacturing Resource Library. Class Navigator in Classification.

3. Select the resource type from the TYPE list, or search for it in the Search field.

4. Enter the Properties for the new resource.

ID

MRL automatically assigns a unique ID that you can accept or change. If you change it, the new ID must be unique.

Revision

MRL automatically assigns a revision letter that you can accept or change.

Name

Type the name of the new resource. Use a unique name so it is easier to search the database using this term.

Description

(Optional) Type a description of the new resource.

5. Click Create.

Note

• Once the resource is created, it is recommended that you next classify the resource.

• If this resource is a root node for a resource assembly, you can now add components.
