Manually create a logical designator during process or operation creation

You can define a logical designator for any process or operation that you create in a generic BOP or product BOP, if a logical designator class is defined for the process or operation.

Procedure

1. Create a process or an operation.

2. Enter the revision form information and click Next.

3. Enter the required logical designator information. The logical designator form contains fields relevant to your site.If the form contains mandatory fields, you must enter the necessary data and click OK to continue. If the form does not contain mandatory fields, click OK immediately to continue.Click Finish to create the new process or operation or click Next to continue and add additional information. Note If you do not complete the required fields at this step, a blank form is created and remains attached to the process revision or operation revision.

4. On completion, Teamcenter creates the logical designator. Its name is derived from the item ID and the value of the MELogicalDesignatorFormNameSuffix preference in the item id-preference value format.

If you create multiple objects in a single procedure, the same logical designator is created for each object and any values you enter on the form are copied to each logical designator.
