Reporting > Work instructions translation
Translate work instructions
To facilitate a clearer understanding of work instructions for operators across the globe, you can translate the work instructions in the local language of a particular geographical location.
After the original work instructions are written in a regional language, translation to other languages at the work instruction authoring stage ensures that all users in a specific location receive the same instructions in the same language. Easy Plan currently supports 13 languages.
Note
Ensure that you write the operations and all processes contained in it in a single language.
Prerequisites
You must have the preference EP_AI_Translate_Languages enabled. In addition, you must add EP_AI_Translate_Languages to the AWC_StartupPreferences in the Teamcenter rich client.
See the Preferences section in the Active Workspace Administration documentation for a description of preferences and how to set them.
Also, ensure that you have the dispatcher configured for the translation to run asynchronously.
Procedure
If you're not already on the work instructions authoring page, navigate to the work instructions authoring page.
Select the operation or process you want to translate.
In the column header, select the ellipsis..., and then click Add New Translation.
In the Add New Translation dialog box, select the languages to which you want to translate the work instructions, then click Translate.
Note If the dispatcher is not installed, a warning is displayed and the translation occurs in synchronous mode.
Results
Easy Plan sends you a notification that the translation is complete.
The notification includes a report detailing the inclusion or exclusion of specific terms from the translation process, if any. You can also access this report later from the files pertaining to station or operation selected for translation.
