Imported feature revisioning
When you import weld, datum, and arc weld features using the me_import_mfgs utility, Teamcenter compares information in the PLM XML file to what is already in the product structure and:
Updates only the features that have changed.
Adds new features that are not present in the structure.
Note
To update a feature, at least one major property must be changed for that feature.
The following properties are used as keys for comparison.
Occurrence (occurrence name, relative transformation matrix, connected to relation)
Revision attributes (revision name)
Form attributes:
| Weld points | Datums | Arc welds |
|---|---|---|
| Resistance | Type | Depth |
| Weld_class | Major control coordinate | Method |
| Weld_designation | Position (x_pos, y_pos, z_pos) | Process |
| Weld_type | Weld_type | |
| Weld_force | Weld_length | |
| Weld_time | Weld_volume |
This diagram illustrates how feature revisions are handled. If the feature has a working status, then the existing revision gets updated but not revised, and is renamed. If the feature has a release status, a new revision is applied.
Note
If the weld, arc weld, and datum manufacturing feature containers—the parents of welds you want to add, remove, or update in your BOM view revision (BVR)—are not writeable, the import will automatically revise those containers.
