Recognizing revision mismatches on BOP lines

In some cases, bill of materials (BOM) items that are consumed in a bill of process (BOP) do not immediately indicate revision mismatches. If you or your administrator set the value of the preference MECompositionMismatchPropertyName to fnd0CompositionRevMismatch, an icon is displayed to indicate the mismatch.

Note

By default, the preference value is empty. The preference is at the site location but you can create your own copy and modify the value since the protection scope is set to user. You must restart Teamcenter after setting the above value.

The icon can indicate a revision mismatch in the BOP because:

• The BOP's lines of operation and parent process are set as precise. For example, you assign an item (revision A) from the BOM to the BOP operation, then someone revises the item in the BOM (revision B). The new revision (B) is displayed in both the BOM and the BOP, but results in a revision mismatch because the first revision was precisely consumed in the BOP.

• An item in the BOM is replaced with a different item. For example, you assign item A from a BOM to an arbitrary operation in the BOP. In the BOM, someone replaces item A with item B. The BOP shows the replacement (item B), but this item does not match the originally consumed item A.

The BOP's Primary Revision Configured column displays the assigned revision.

Note

If an item is revised in the BOM, the BOP still shows the old revision of that item until you reload or reconfigure the structure. The mismatch icon is only displayed after the structure is reloaded or reconfigured.
