Clone objects

Clone a process using copy and paste during process planning

If you have authored a process, you can use that object as a template to create a new object.

The

Copy

and

Paste

commands are available, respectively, from the BOM and BOP toolbars. In

Easy Plan

, the ability to drag files or objects to other objects works the same way as it does in other applications. For more details on resequencing and moving elements, see

Rules for cloning, moving, and resequencing objects in the BOM or the BOP

.

Prerequisites

You must set the MEProcess.MEProcess.PasteDuplicateTemplate preference to the correct values to control cloning rules:

  • MEProductBOP.MEProductBOP.PasteDuplicateTemplate—defines cloning rules for the product BOP.

  • MfgMEPlantBOP.Mfg0MEPlantBOP.PasteDuplicateTemplate—defines cloning rules for the plant BOP.

In addition, you must add the MEProcess.MEProcess.PasteDuplicateTemplate preference to the AWC_StartupPreferences in the Teamcenter rich client.

See the Preferences section in the Active Workspace Administration documentation for a description of preferences and how to set them.

Procedure

  1. If you have not done so already, search for and open an existing work package that contains processes and operations, and navigate to the Process Planning page.

  2. In the Process panel, select the process that you want to clone.
Note You can select and clone multiple processes only if they are under the same parent object.

  3. Click Copy, and then select one of the following:
To add the processes within a current process resource, select another object under the process resource and click Paste → Paste Before or Paste After. The cloned item is added to the process resource before or after the item you selected. To add the processes to a different process resource, select the process resource into which you want to move the operations and click Paste → → Paste Into. The cloned item is added to the process resource as the last item in that process resource.
