TcMA tools for Process Simulate > Study Manager in Process Simulate

Apply an SVR to a study in Study Manager

You can apply a saved variant rule (SVR) to a collaboration context so that when you launch Process Simulate, the study data is already configured according to the SVR. This feature supports both isolated and shared studies.

Restrictions and limitations

You must run Process Simulate version 2502 or later to use this feature. In addition, you must use Product Configurator variants in your structures. This feature does not support classic variants.

Prerequisites

Ensure that the structures in which you work and your environment meet these prerequisites before you use this feature.

  • Associate a Product Configurator context to the bill of materials (BOM).

  • (Optional) Associate the same Product Configurator to the bill of process (BOP) and the bill of equipment (BOE).

  • Define a variant formula on the BOM and optionally on the BOP and BOE nodes.

  • Define saved variant rules in the Product Configurator.

  • Set the TCMA_EnableVariantOnStudyManager value to true. In addition, you must add the TCMA_EnableVariantOnStudyManager value to the AWC_StartupPreferences in the Teamcenter rich client. See the Preferences section in the Active Workspace Administration documentation for a description of preferences and how to set them.

Procedure

  1. If you have not done so already, start Process Simulate and then open Study Manager.

  2. Search for a collaboration context and select one from the list.

  3. Click Variant Configuration and select a variant rule. You can also click in the Filter field and type characters to reduce the number of variant rules that are displayed. This feature does not support wildcard characters.

  4. Select a study and then click Load in Line Simulation Mode or Load in Standard Mode to load the study in Process Simulate. Process Simulate loads the study and configures the study data with the SVR. Process Simulate displays the name of the applied SVR on the screen.

Note In study edit mode, Study Manager does not configure its variant data.
