Resolve a tool requirement

Do one of the following:

Manually resolve a tool requirement.If a tool requirement contains a description only (no search criteria defined), you must resolve this tool requirement manually. Copy and paste or drag and drop a tool into the tool requirement.
Automatically resolve a tool requirement.

In the plant BOP, select the process or operation that contains the unresolved tool requirement and choose Open With→Assignments. Teamcenter displays the tool requirements in the Assignments view.

In the Assignments view, select the tool requirement you want to resolve.

Click the Find Candidates button or choose Find Candidates from the shortcut menu. Teamcenter searches for all tools that fit the criteria specified in the tool requirement and opens them in the Tool Requirements Resolver view. This view displays the candidate tools found during the search listed by the tools found in the classification hierarchy and the tools found in the work area.

(Optional) Use the Filter button to filter tools according to the source of the tool (by work area or classification root). The filter settings remain applied in the view for subsequent searches until you change the value manually.

Choose the correct tool and click the Accept Tool button or choose Accept Tool from the shortcut menu.

Teamcenter resolves the tool requirement in the plant BOP by adding the selected tool to the structure using the assignment type specified in the tool requirement. Additionally, the tool is shown beneath the requirement in the Assignments view and under the process or operation in the structure view. The resolved symbol is displayed beside the selected tool in the Tool Requirements Resolver view.If you want to change tools, select another tool in the Tool Requirements Resolver view and click again. If the resolved tool is removed from the classification root or work area, if you search again for candidate tools, the tool is still displayed in the Tool Requirements Resolver view.
