Customize Electronic Work Instructions preferences

General settings

  • CfgActivityLine.CellProperties—Defines the properties to be displayed in the activities table in list view mode in the Electronic Work Instructions solution in the Active Workspace client. If a value is empty, the property does not appear. Valid values are the internal name of properties for the type Activity or any of its subtypes. Example me_cl_display_string Activity number (sequence). me_cl_object_desc Activity description.

The default values for this preference are me_cl_display_string and me_cl_object_desc.

  • EWI_DocumentItemsInformationRule—Defines which document items are shown in Electronic Work Instructions. In Teamcenter, you can attach documents to an item as attachments, or you can consume a document item in a process line. This preference tells Electronic Work Instructions where to look for documents associated to a step. Accepts one of the following: Assigned Shows the document items directly assigned to the current step. Attached Shows the document items attached to the current step. Assigned,Attached Shows the document items directly assigned and those attached to the current step.

    The default value is Assigned,Attached.

  • AWC_ItemRevision.showObjectLocation.ewiSublocation.SUMMARYRENDERING—Indicates the XML rendering template (XRT) used in the Electronic Work Instructions sublocation to render the ItemRevision object properties shown in the Parts and Tools overview pane. XRT files are used to configure layout in Teamcenter clients and are commonly referred to as style sheets. However, they neither follow CSS or XSL standards, nor do they perform transformations. For more information on XRT information, see ''XRT information specific to Active Workspace" in the Deployment and configuration section of the Active Workspace help. The preference accepts a single string as a value, but it must be a valid dataset name, which contains rendering XML. The default value is EWIItemRevSummary.

  • AWC_PartRevision.showObjectLocation.ewiSubLocation.SUMMARYRENDERING—Indicates the XML rendering dataset used in the Electronic Work Instructions sublocation to render the PartRevision object properties shown in the Parts overview pane. AWC_part-revision.show-object-location.ewi-sub-location. .SUMMARYRENDERING=EWIItemRevSummary The Parts and Tools overview content is defined in the XML rendering template named EWIItemRevSummary.xrt. While XRT files are used to configure layout in Teamcenter clients and are commonly used as style sheets, they neither follow CSS or XSL standards nor perform transformations. For more information on XRT information, see XRT information specific to Active Workspace in the Deployment and configuration section of the Active Workspace help. The preference accepts a single string as a value, but it must be a valid dataset name, which contains rendering XML. The default value is EWIItemRevSummary.

  • EWI_ProductViewOpenConfiguration—Defines the configuration setting used while loading product views (SnapshotViewDataset objects) in 3D mode. Accepts one of the following: Static The product structure is not reconfigured while loading the product view. In this mode, the product view loads faster but any modifications in the structure made after saving the product view are not visible. Dynamic The product structure is reconfigured while loading the product view. The product view loads more slowly compared to the static mode. The 3D viewer displays the current state of the product with this mode.

    The default value is Static.

  • EWI_step_url_domain—Defines the domain used to calculate the URL of a step; this is the first part of the calculated URL. Calculating the URL of a step is required so that the step can be opened by an instance of Electronic Work Instructions that is embedded in an external system, such as a manufacturing execution system (MES). Provide a valid value in the format: http://<*server*>:<*microservices port-number*>/#/com.siemens.splm.clientfx.tcui.xrt.showObject?

  • .INFORENDERING—Indicates the XML rendering dataset used in Electronic Work Instructions to render the properties shown in the Info pane for a particular business object type, using the form of AWC_business-object-type.INFORENDERING=xml-rendering-style-sheet-dataset. For example, the AWC_CCobject.INFORENDERING = EWICCObjectInfoSummary preference means that for CCobject business objects, the EWICCObjectInfoSummary XML rendering style sheet dataset is used to render the properties in the user interface. Teamcenter property displays are based on an XML style sheet. The style sheet must be created and registered by a system administrator. The XML file allows users to define a set of properties to display, the display order, and the user interface rendering component to be used. This preference determines the XML rendering for displaying the defined type's properties. If this preference is defined, the .REGISTEREDTO preference must also be defined. In the example, the EWICCObjectInfoSummary.SUMMARY_REGISTEREDTO preference is set to CCObject (without the AWC prefix). Accepts a single string as a value. It must be a valid dataset name, which contains rendering XML. There are no default values. This preference must be manually entered into the database. Create new preferences using the Options dialog box, accessed from the Edit menu in the rich client. Tip You can customize the Info pane for a collaboration context (CCObject) object.

  • Mfg0BvrEquipment.CellProperties—Defines the property name and values to display in list view mode in the object cell for equipment. These are the attributes displayed in the table when you view the list of tools used in the current step. If a value is empty, the property does not appear. This preference accepts any valid runtime property. To configure execution serial and lot numbers, add the following values:

    ewi0LotNumber

    ewi0SerialNumber

    ewi0IsSerialized

    ewi0IsLot

The default values for this preference are bl_rev_object_name, bl_rev_object_desc, and bl_quantitybl_sequence_no.
