Support for surface finish roughness

You can import upper and lower surface finish roughness values when importing PMI objects. This capability supports direct mapping of these values, as well as GD&T code properties, to system integration testing (SIT) data collection interfaces.

Once you create data collection definitions (DCDs) and assign them to operations in PMI Manager, you can view surface roughness values in your Manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) and your bill of process (BOP) by enabling both the PMI Upper Specification Limit and the PMI Lower Specification Limit columns. You can view PMI GD&T code by enabling the column PMI GDT Code.

Note

If the roughness is a simple Ra value (the value of all absolute distances of the roughness profile from the center line within the measured length), that value is applied to the PMI Upper Specification Limit property.
