EBOM-MBOM preferences

Preferences define the relationships between a source engineering bill of materials (EBOM) and a target manufacturing bill of materials (EBOM).

Preference Description
MEAlignedPropertiesList Defines the list of BOM line properties considered during alignment, comparison, and synchronization of aligned occurrences. By default, the AbsOccID, Child Item, Notes, Quantity, Unit of Measure, Transform, Substitute List, Source, and Occurrence Type properties are considered. Do not add properties to this preference unless you ensure methods exist to read from and write to them.
MEAlignedPropertiestoExcludeFromDetection Defines a list of BOM line properties that are not compared when aligning occurrences in the EBOM and MBOM.
MEAlignedPropertiestoExcludeFromInitialization Defines the list of BOM line properties that are not copied to an MBOM when the part is originally assigned from the EBOM to the MBOM.
MEAlignedPropertiestoExcludeFromSync Defines a list of BOM line properties that are not copied to the aligned target occurrence during synchronization.
MEAlignmentCheckReportLocation Defines if a persisted EBOM-MBOM alignment report is stored in a dataset in the My Teamcenter Newstuff folder or if it is attached to the item revision of the top line of the target window.
MEAlignmentCheckReportDefinition Contains the name of the report definition that controls the creation of the EBOM-MBOM alignment check report. A default report definition is provided but you can supply a custom report definition if necessary.
MEAlignmentCheckReportStylesheet Contains the name of the Microsoft Excel style sheet on which the EBOM-MBOM alignment check report is based. A default style sheet is provided, but you can supply a custom style sheet if necessary.
MEAssignAttachmentAndRelationToUseInCopyRule Specifies which attachment and relation types are referenced when you carry forward attachments that are associated in-context in the source structure.
MEAssignAttachmentContext Specifies the context of the in-context attachments after assignment.
MECreateIdInContextforAssignedchildlines Assigns an IDIC to the child lines when assigning the parent from the EBOM to the MBOM. If you assign a line containing children from the EBOM to the MBOM, by default, only the parent line is given an IDIC. If you remove that parent line from that MBOM, the children move up a level in the hierarchy, but because they do not have an IDIC, they do not show up as a match when running an accountability check between EBOM and MBOM. You can change this behavior in the MECreateIdInContextforAssignedchildlines preference.
MEEffectivityAssignmentMode Defines the assignment behavior from an Engineering BOM (EBOM) to a Manufacturing BOM (MBOM) for the BOMline property bl_occ_effectivity. 0 (Default) Keep the default Teamcenter behavior. 1 Inherit assignment behavior from parent. 2 Apply calculated net effectivity behavior.
MEMBOM_Mirror_MakeRules Specifies a BOM Line property, such as bl_item_object_type, and property value pair that serve as input for the decision as to whether to create a manufacturing-specific part. There are two ways to view defined BOM Line property names: 1. In the BMIDE, you can check the properties defined for the object BOM Line. 2. In Structure Manager, if you right-click on the column title line and choose Insert Column(s)…, you get a list of the defined BOM Line properties. A common criteria may be, for example, whether you make or buy a part. Any parts designated as make in the EBOM are replaced by manufacturing-specific parts in the MBOM. Note This preference accepts only a string value. If you require a boolean or other attribute, you should write your own Business Modeler Framework extension to control a make or buy decision.
MEMBOM_Mirror_RemoveLineWithIDIC Specifies that if a line in the EBOM is removed using the me_create_mbom utility, its counterpart in the MBOM is removed at update if it is already stamped with an IDIC.
MEMBOM_Mirror_TypePrefixSuffix Defines the target item type, naming prefix, and naming suffix used when you create MBOM items via the me_create_mbom utility. Default Values: Item:Item:M_: Part:Part:M_: The preference supports two value formats: Colon format: srcType:targetType:prefix:suffix Source-type aware mapping that allows different target types and naming rules per EBOM source type. Comma format (legacy): targetType,prefix,suffix A single catch-all mapping applied to all source types. Precedence behavior when both formats coexist: Priority Format Behavior 1 (highest) Colon If the srcType of a colon-format entry matches the source item type name, that entry is used. 2 (fallback) Comma If no colon-format entry matches, the comma-format entry (if present) is used as a catch-all. For entries with the same source type (colon), or multiple comma entries, the last entry in the array is used. Tip The preference MEMBOM_Mirror_TypePrefixSuffix can be applied to the following use cases. Type-specific MBOM mirroring. Defining Item and Part types in the EBOM using colon-format entries (Item:Item:M_: and Part:Part:M_:). Each source type is mirrored to its own MBOM target type with the M_ prefix. Cross-type mirroring. EBOM uses Item but the MBOM must use Document. The entry Item:Document:M_: creates document-typed MBOM items with the M_ prefix for every Item source. Legacy fallback with specific overrides. A comma-format entry Item,GEN_ provides a default mapping for all source types. Additional colon-format entries (Part:Part:MP_:_MBOM) override the default for specific source types. For Part sources, the colon entry takes precedence. All other source types fall back to the comma entry. Prefix and suffix naming. The entry Item:Item:M_:_V1 transforms an EBOM item named Engine into an MBOM item named M_Engine_V1. MEMBOM_Mirror_ReplaceMakeOnChange Enables the replacement of manufacturing BOM (MBOM) lines that were changed from Make to Buy in the engineering BOM (EBOM) during the MBOM update from the EBOM using the me_create_mbom utility.
RollUp_Variant_Traverse_Level_Is_InstallationAssembly Determines the level to which rolled-up variant conditions are calculated.
