Connect elements

To connect an element in the plant BOP to the BOE or in the BOE to the plant BOP, do the following:

1. Select the line you want to connect manually.

2. Right-click the line and choose Synchronize Process and Plant→Connect

If the parent for the selected line is not linked, you will be prompted to connect the parent first. The connect action is irreversible. Once linked, connected elements cannot be unlinked.

Miscellaneous connect information

• You can only connect mapped object types in BOEPlantBOPTypeAndPropertyMap.xml.

• If you add a new element in the structure and try to connect it with an existing element, you will be prompted to replace the existing connection. If you try to replace the connection to a new element by replacing its old connection, the old connection will lost.

• If two elements are already connected and you want to connect one element to another element, it will first ask if you want to replace the existing connection. If you reply Yes, it will replace the connection and connect to new element. If you reply No, nothing will happen.

• After manually connecting the element, if you want to synchronize the sub-structure, you can select the manually connected line and perform a synchronize.
