Confirm product parts are in proper tool position

When you perform a design review, you can visually identify consumed product parts in their absolute coordinate system (CSYS) tool position. This lets you confirm that they are properly located when a supplier returns them. The Use Reference Frame Position command moves parts to their assigned CSYS.

Procedure

1. Open a plant bill of process (BOP) and the Graphics view.

2. In the plant BOP, select a process station and choose File→New→Station Reference Frame.

3. In the New Reference Frame dialog box, in the Item Information group, type a name for the frame and click Assign to create an ID and revision name.

4. In the station work area, select a tool design, and next to the Use position of text box, click .

5. Click Finish to view the absolute CSYS location of the tool design in the Graphics view.

Note You cannot copy and paste station reference frames to other process stations. They must be manually created for each station.

6. With the plant BOP process station selected, in the plant BOP toolbar, click Use Reference Frame Position .

A message reports that consumed objects will be temporarily moved relative to the reference frame.

7. (Optional) To avoid this message in the future, select the Don't show this message again check box.

8. Click OK.

Results

The frame and CSYS are turned on and consumed parts move to the absolute frame position. If you created any dynamic process assemblies (DIPAs), or create DIPAs in the future, they also move to the absolute frame position.
