Synchronize to study or publish from study
When updating or finishing an isolated study, you can synchronize specific changes from the source process structure to the study, or publish changes from the study to the source structure. To save time, you can also synchronize or publish selective process stations or operations.
Note
An administrator with DBA privileges must set up study synchronization and publishing.
Due to the closure rule preference IsolatedStudySyncPublish, the ability to synch or publish between study and the bill of process (BOP) structure does not work for custom process or operation types. To synch or publish between study and BOP, change the value the of preference MEClosureRuleNameForIsolatedStudySyncPublish to AccountabilityAll.
The MEAccountabilityCheckIgnoreAttachmentTypes preference allows you to define specific attachment types to be excluded during data publication or synchronization from an isolated study. By listing attachment types such as PDF, CAD, or TestReport as values in this preference, those designated attachments are skipped during publish or synch actions.
Procedure
- Do one of the following:
In the BOP, either select the top line to synchronize the entire BOP structure to the study structure, select a process station to synchronize only that station and its children, or a single operation, and then click Synchronize to Study .
In the isolated study structure, either select the top line to publish the entire study structure to the BOP structure, select a process station to synchronize only that station and its children, or a single operation, and then click Publish from Study .
Note You can also publish changes from studies to a source structure from a collaboration context (CC) tree by right-clicking the top line in the CC and choosing Propagate All Studies.
- If you are synchronizing from the BOP structure to the study structure, in the Synchronize to Study dialog box, select Time-Based to perform a full synchronization or Event-Based to perform a partial synchronization, and then click OK.
Results
Teamcenter propagates the change to the other structure.
