Analyze net filtered variability

You can use this feature to analyze the net filtered variability of bill of process (BOP) objects, and then you can send the configured to downstream applications such as SAP.

Prerequisites

Before you use this feature, you must set a value for each of the following preferences. In addition, you must add each preference to the AWC_StartupPreferences in the Teamcenter rich client. See Working with preferences in Active Workspace for more information.

  • EP_AssignedPartsAreaColumnConfiguration—Controls the visibility of columns in the Parts tab for the BOP. Set this preference value to false to display the column in the table. In the Teamcenter rich client, click + Insert Columns, search for the Net Variability and Net Filtered Variability columns, and add each value to the preference setting.

  • EP_ProcessTreeAssemblyPlanningColumnConfiguration—Controls the visibility of columns in the BOP tree in the Process Planning page. Set this preference value to false to display the column in the table. In the Teamcenter rich client, click + Insert Columns, search for the Net Variability and Net Filtered Variability columns, and add each value to the preference setting.

  • typeAndRuleForProcessConfiguration—Controls the behavior related to a BOP object getting configured out of an assembly based on the configuration that is applied to BOM assignments. Set this preference to one of the following values:

    MEOP:One—Easy Plan calculates the net variability of a process object and the link net variability of its assigned children. Then, Easy Plan propagates the filtered variability to the object's assigned children.

    MEOP:All—Easy Plan calculates the net variability of a process object's children intersected with the net variability of the parent object.

Procedure

  1. If you have not done so already, search for and open an existing work package and navigate to the Process Planning page.

  2. In the Process panel, expand the assembly and select an operation.

  3. Review the data in the Net Filtered Variability columns of the process BOP tree and in the Parts tab.
