Clone a full BOP to use in small product mode

You can clone and reuse the bill of process (BOP) for a full product and modify it as needed when you are working in small product mode. When you work in small product mode you can load and work on a component that is part of a larger assembly, and not load and view the full assembly.

The Copy and Paste commands are available, respectively, from the BOM and BOP toolbars. In Easy Plan, the ability to drag files or objects to other objects works the same way as it does in other applications. Restrictions and limitations

You must be working in small product mode to use this feature.

Prerequisites

You can use the must set the value for the EP_PlanningForSmallProduct preference to true. In addition, you can use the Process.Template preference to define which cloning rule process template is used to clone items in a process structure. Cloning rule options include:

• Mapping_Consume—Clones all consumed objects referenced by the template to a new object in the cloned structure.

• Referencing_Consume—References all consumed objects from the manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) into the cloned structure.

• Ignoring_Consume—Clones the process from the template, but ignores all consumed objects in the original process.

In addition, you must add the EP_PlanningForSmallProduct and Process.Template.Mapping preferences to the AWC_StartupPreferences in the Teamcenter rich client.

Procedure

1. If you have not done so already, search for and open an existing work package that contains processes and operations, and navigate to the Process Planning or Work Instructions Authoring page.

2. If you are on the Work Instructions Authoring page, do the following.
   
   In the Process tab or panel, select a process or operation.
   
   In the Editor tab, next to the process or operation name you just selected, click , then select one of the following options.

3. If you are on the Process Planning page, in the Process panel, select the process or operation beneath which you want to create the clone and click .

4. From the drop-down menu select a cloning option.

            The Add panel
                is displayed.
   

5. Type the full or partial name of the process you want to clone or type its ID and click Search.
   Tip You can use wildcard characters in your search. For example, type STN to search for a work area item name that begins with STN. To ensure the best search results, create a query with narrow parameters.

6. Select a BOP from the results and type a Name for the cloned BOP.

7. (Optional) Select a revision rule.

                Note 
                    The revision rule you select is applied to the cloned
                        BOP.
                    The default revision rule is Latest Working.
   

8. Click Cloning Rule and then select an option from the list.
   Mapping_Consumes—Clones all consumed objects into the new BOP. Referencing_Consumes—References all consumed objects into the new object. Ignoring_Consumes—Ignores any consumed objects in the clone template, and only clones the BOP.

9. (Optional) Update values in any of the following fields and then click Create BOP.
   Description—Type in a description for the cloned BOP. Process ID—Type in a process ID for the cloned BOP. If you leave this field blank, Teamcenter Easy Plan provides a process ID. Revision ID—Type in a revision ID for the cloned BOP. If you leave this field blank, Teamcenter Easy Plan provides a revision ID.

10. (Optional) Click the Process Planning tile to navigate to the Process Planning tile to continue planning in the work package.
