Managing the enterprise BOP > Cloning enterprise BOP structures

Create a new product BOP from template

Procedure

  1. Follow the procedure in Create a product BOP until step 4, where you are prompted to enter template information.Teamcenter displays the Enter Template Information pane.

  2. Select the Choose Template tab.

Choose the required generic bill of process (BOP) or product BOP template by typing the template ID, searching for it, or picking it from the list of favorite templates.

(Optional) From the Select Type list, select a product BOP custom type to which you want to clone your existing product BOP.

  1. Click the Configuration tab and enter the following information:

Revision Rule Select a revision rule from the list to configure the structure to clone, and then select an effectivity by clicking Set Date/Unit/End Item. For more information about configuring with revisions and creating effectivities, see Getting Started With Product Structure.

Variant Rule Select Process all variants to traverse the structure considering all unconfigured variants or select Process configured to only process the configured structure. If you select the Process configured option, you must specify a variant rule by clicking Configure Variants. The structure is configured using the variant rule and unconfigured variants are not considered during cloning.

Naming and Numbering Pattern If you have multiple naming or numbering patterns defined, select the one you want to use.

Cloning Rule Select one of the available copy action rules from the list. The administrator configures the copy action rules at your site. Cloning rules are driven by the preferences GenericBOPAllowedTemplates and ProductBOPAllowedTemplates. A product that is assigned to a process or operation after resolving a logical assignment is not evaluated for cloning or referencing in the cloned structure. If more than one line in the target structure has the same logical designator, only the first line encountered is mapped. If more than one logical assignment line in the template references the same logical designator, all are mapped to the same object in the target, if they are processed with the same copy action.

Carry over future incremental changes If you select this check box, you must set the effective date. If you do not select this check box, cloning copies the configured structure only.

  1. Click OK, and then return to step 5 in Create a product BOP.
