Create a product BOP

Procedure

Choose File→New→Product BOP.Teamcenter displays the New Product BOP dialog box.
Select one of the product BOP types from the list and click Next.For more information about creating additional product BOP types, see BMIDE for Data Model Design.
Select the root partition type you want to create and click Next.
If you want to create (clone) the product BOP from a template, enter the template information and click Next. If not, click Next immediately.
Enter the ID number to be assigned to this new product BOP. You can assign a unique revision number in the Revision ID box.Note To let the system automatically assign a unique ID, click Assign.
Type a name for the new product BOP, following your company's naming standards.
Click Finish to create the new product BOP or click Next to add more information.Note If the master forms or partition logical designator contain mandatory fields, you must click Next at this step.
(Optional) Enter or browse to the ID of the template that the product BOP is based on, and then click Finish to create the new product BOP or click Next to add master form information.
(Optional) Define any additional product BOP information, and then click Finish to create the new product BOP or click Next to add more optional information.
(Optional) Define any additional product BOP revision information, and then click Finish to create the new product BOP or click Next to add more optional information.Note By default, this pane is empty as the default master form of the product BOP revision contains no fields.
(Optional) Define the logical designator of the root partition, and then click Finish to create the new product BOP or click Next to attach files.
(Optional) Attach any files you want to associate with the product BOP, and then click Finish to create the new product BOP or click Next to assign the product BOP to a project.
(Optional) Assign the product BOP to one or more projects. The system displays the list of projects to which the product BOP can be assigned.

Select one or more projects from the Projects for Selection list.

Click the right-arrow button to move the projects to the Selected Projects list.

Click Finish to finish the project assignment and create the new product BOP, or click Next to add more optional information.

Note The generic BOP is always owned by the project shown in the Owning Project field.

(Optional) Define the open, display, and checkout behavior.

The Show as new root check box is always selected because a generic BOP must be a new root.

If you created an alternate identifier for the product BOP, you can use the alternate identifier as the default display object. Select Use item identifier as the default display and Use revision identifier as the default display to set the alternate identifier as the default display object.

Select Check Out Product BOP Revision on Create to lock the checkout of the associated product BOP revision when the product BOP is created.

Click Finish to create the new product BOP.
