Line balancing with precedence constraints

When you work in line balancing with precedence constraints, Easy Plan displays error messages when you violate those constraints.

Prerequisites

• You must configure Easy Plan to use precedence constraints.

• You must define precedence constraints for your data.

Procedure

1. If you have not already done so search for and open a work package, and then navigate to the Line Balancing page.

2. On the Line Balancing page, perform line balancing tasks. Easy Plan displays a message when you violate a precedence constraint. Note A precedence constraint can be violated when you assign an operation between or among stations. Precedence constraints are also violated when you manually change a Find No.
   Precedence constraints depend upon the mode in which you are working:
   
   Prevention mode—Easy Plan displays a message and does not allow you to move data.
   
   Warning mode—Easy Plan displays a message and allows you to move data.

3. Resolve any precedence constraints and complete your line balancing.
