Generate background accountability checks and quickly resolve report errors

When running accountability checks against very large EBOMs and MBOMs, you can save time by generating accountability check reports in the background using a utility, and then quickly resolving assignment issues.

Prerequisites

This feature is enabled when the value of the preference

MBM_EnableAccountabilityCheckReport

is set to true.

Procedure

  1. From Manufacturing Process Planner, do the following to generate an accountability check report.

Open the Advanced Accountability Check dialog box.

Click the Reporting tab and then select Report in occurrence groups.

Run an accountability check in batch mode.
Teamcenter stores and displays the result of the accountability check in an additional tab in the structure pane grouped by anomaly. This result is only computed for the source item and is stored in the database.

  2. Once the accountability check has run, navigate to the BOM Alignment task page, and from the Compare list, select a criteria for comparison that is applicable to the report you generated.
Note Do not enable Show Assignment State.

  3. On the task page, click Show Accountability Report .
EBOM Report and MBOM Report tabs are displayed.

  4. With the tab selected for the report type you want to review, click Open .

  5. In the Open xBOM Report dialog box, from the list of Available Reports, select a report and then click Open. Report results are organized into categories.

  6. To view a list of elements located in the EBOM but not yet assigned to the MBOM, click Missing in Target and do any of the following.
Click Find and select the preferred elements in the BOM. Enable Selection Mode , and then click each preferred element. Enable Select All to select all elements.

  7. In the MBOM, select the part or assembly to which you want to assign the elements, and in the MBOM toolbar, click Assign . The elements are assigned to the target and removed from the Missing in Target list.

  8. To resolve equivalent object occurrences for which criteria is only partially identical, such as an incorrect attribute, enable Show Assignment State, click Partial Match, and do the following.

For each duplicate element in the partial match list, in the MBOM panel, click the element's assignment icon and then click Compare to EBOM.

In the Compare dialog box, review the changes within the context of the EBOM parent, and if applicable, click Update MBOM.
Tip In the MBOM Report, you can also update an element by selecting it, and in the Partial Match toolbar, clicking Update in MBOM .

  9. To remove extra parts or assemblies in cases where more than a single equivalent in either structure and all properties of the source objects are identical to the properties of target objects, click Multiple Match and do the following.

On the MBOM Report tab, locate the elements to be removed.

In the MBOM panel, select Edit Structure → Remove .

  10. When finished, click Hide Accountability Report .
