Quickly propagate operation changes to a production or alternative plant BOP

You can quickly propagate structure changes from a linked production plant BOP to an alternative plant BOP, or vice versa, if you have added or removed operations. This capability exists only for operations and their consumed parts or products. Changes do not propagate if resources are assigned to the operation.

Procedure

  1. Open the production and alternative BOP structures to be updated.

  2. The following examples illustrate the effect of this method.

Add an operation.

Choose File→New→Operation and add an operation to the plant BOP.

(Optional) Add a consumed part to the operation.

Right-click the new operation and choose Propagate to Master/Alternative.
    Note
To enable this action your administrator must add the logical preference ME_Alternative_Enable_Propagate with site level scope.

In the Propagate to Master/Alternative dialog box, select the check box next to the structure to which you want to propagate the change and click Propagate to Selected Structures.
The operation is propagated to the target.

Remove operations.

In the alternative BOP, press Ctrl and select one or more operations to remove.

Choose Edit→Remove and, at the warning prompt, click OK.

Run an advanced accountability check and in the accountability results for the BOP from which you did not remove operations, select missing in source (usually red) BOM lines.

The selected operations highlight in the affected BOP.

In the accountability results, right-click a selected line and choose Propagate to Master/Alternative.

In the Propagate to Master/Alternative dialog box, select the check box next to the structure to which you want to propagate the change and click Propagate to Selected Structures.
The operations are added back to the structure.
