Configure study type access by user role

To limit the study types a user can create, configure role-based permissions with a preference in Easy Plan.

If you do not configure the

TCMA_CreateSubtypesForType_Mfg0MEStudy

preference for a user role, then users in that role can create all study types.

Prerequisites

You must have administrator privileges to modify preference settings.

Procedure

1. Log into Easy Plan with an administrator username and password.

2. Navigate to the Home page and click the Preferences tile. For more information see Working with preferences in Active Workspace.

3. Create an instance of the TCMA_CreateSubtypesForType_Mfg0MEStudy preference and then configure it for a specific user role.
   
   In the Preference list, in the Filters field, type TCMA_CreateSubtypesForType_Mfg0MEStudy and click Search .
   Tip You can use wildcard characters in your search. For example, type scan to search for an object that begins with the word scan. To ensure the best search results, create a query with narrow parameters.
   
   
   
   In the preference information panel, change the Protection Scope to Role and save the preference.
   
   
   In the Organization panel, select the role you want to limit to a specific study type.
   
   Tip You can scroll through the list of user roles, or type a role name in the Filter field and click Search .
   
   
   
   In the preference information panel click Override, select one of the following preference values, and then click Add.
   
   Mfg0MEShdStudy—select this option to limit the user role to creating shared studies.
   Mfg0MESimStudy—select this option to limit the user role to creating isolated studies.
   
   
   Easy Plan creates a TCMA_CreateSubtypesForType_Mfg0MEStudy preference instance for the selected user role. When users with that role log into Easy Plan, they can create studies for the specified type only.

4. (Optional) Perform step 3 and create a new instance of the TCMA_CreateSubtypesForType_Mfg0MEStudy preference for each user role that you want to configure.
