Run a source BOM to target BOM accountability check
When working with a source bill of materials (BOM) and a target BOM in either standard or focus mode on the BOM Alignment page, you can run a complete assignment comparison.
When you run a complete accountability check, all assignment statuses are typically shown in both the source and target, across all engineering and manufacturing assignment domains. When you run a complete comparison with focus mode set to a manufacturing assembly that is not associated with a specific source BOM assignment domain, this approach lets you identify parts that are out of focus, overassigned, and so on. For more details on assignment domains, see Update equivalent assignment scopes.
Note
You can also run a partial accountability check that displays assignment indications in either the source BOM or the target BOM, but not both.
Procedure
With the MBMOnDemandCompare preference set to true in Teamcenter, search for and open a work package and navigate to the BOM Alignment page.
From the Compare list, select a comparison criteria. Saved setting descriptions derive from the Advanced Accountability Check settings in Manufacturing Process Planner (Scope tab →Available Settings group).
Select Show Assignment State. The assignment comparison control is enabled. Assignment status icons are now displayed in the Assignment State column of the source EBOM and target MBOM panels.
(Optional) Filter the scope of source BOM and target BOM alignments.
In the source BOM, select an assembly.
In the target BOM, select an assembly to which parts from the source BOM assembly are assigned.
In the MBOM toolbar, click Focus .
All elements outside the selected source BOM and target BOM assembly and subassembly become unavailable.
To improve performance when assigning elements from the source BOM to the target BOM, temporarily disable Show Assignment State.
On the BOM Alignment page, make any assignments or other adjustments between the source and target BOMs, and then disable the Show Assignment State.
Assignment indications are not displayed in the Assignment State columns of the BOM panels.
- To finish the comparison, disable Show Assignment State. Assignment status icons are no longer visible in the Assignment State column of the source and target BOM panels, and the Change Summary panel is closed.
