Propagate multiple alternative structures to a production BOP and BOE

To save time and reduce possible errors, you can propagate single or multiple alternative structures contained in a collaboration context (CC) to a bill of equipment (BOE) and bill of process (BOP) in a production environment. Operations, Process Simulate attachments, isolated studies, resources, and other objects added to alternative structures are asynchronously propagated to the production environment.

Procedure

  1. Confirm you have write privileges in the production environment and that no data in that environment is checked out.

  2. Open the production and alternative structures and run an advanced accountability check on the alternative structure.

The settings on the Scope tab determine how changes are propagated from the alternative structures to the production structures. Example You might set Source objects to one or more stations in the alternative BOP and Target objects to appropiate matching stations in the production BOP. You might set Available Settings to target a production BOE.

  1. When the advanced accountability check settings are correct, click OK.

  2. Open the alternative and production CCs containing the appropriately matched structures.

  3. In the alternative CC, right-click the alternative structures to be propagated, and select Alternative Auto Propagation.

Note You cannot propagate changes from a production CC to an alternative CC.

Results

Changes are propagated to the production CC in the following order:

  • BOE

  • BOP

  • Isolated studies

When the changes are complete, start and complete notifications are sent to your home mailbox. A log file attached to the completion mail reports detailed changes to the production structures organized by lines, sublines, and stations to help you identify validation requirements.
