Managing the enterprise BOP > Allocating processes or operations to a plant BOP

Automatically allocate from a new product BOP to a plant BOP

The prerequisites for this procedure are as follows:

  • There is a product BOP (the reference product BOP) from which processes and operations are manually assigned to a plant BOP.

  • There is a second product BOP that has processes and operations that have the same logical designators as the first product BOP and from which you want to automatically allocate processes and operations to the same plant BOP as the reference product BOP.

  • Both product and plant BOPs are configured.

Procedure

  1. Right-click a plant BOP root, a process area, or multiple process areas and choose Automatic Allocation.

The Automatic Allocation dialog box opens with the selected line or lines listed in the Target allocation area list. The Reference product BOP for allocation list holds all the product BOPs that are linked to the selected plant BOP.

  1. In the Reference product BOP for allocation box, select the product BOP whose processes or operations you want to use as the basis for the automatic allocation to the plant BOP.

Teamcenter chooses the latest revision of the structure that you choose.

  1. Add the product BOP from which you want to allocate processes and operations by selecting it in the structure view and clicking .

  2. (Optional) Click Preview to display a CSV file in Excel showing which processes and operations will be allocated to which targets in the plant BOP.

  3. Click Allocate.

For every process or operation under the selected product BOP scope that is configured in, Teamcenter searches for a corresponding process or operation (according to the logical designator) in the configured plant BOP. If a process or operation is already allocated for the same scope, Teamcenter does not allocate it again.
