View and analyze clone indication data

You can use clone indication information to identify a source and its cloned object, and then propagate those changes with a traceability view. The clone indication feature supports cloning during the copy and paste process, during a search, and during classification.

The Copy and Paste commands are available, respectively, from the bill of materials (BOM) and bill of process (BOP) toolbars. In Easy Plan, the ability to drag files or objects to other objects works the same way as it does in other applications. Restrictions and limitations

You must be working with a classic bill of process (BOP) to use this feature.

Prerequisites

You must set the EP_ShowCloneIndication and TC_CLONE_CREATE_BASED_ON values to true. In addition, you must add the EP_ShowCloneIndication and TC_CLONE_CREATE_BASED_ON preferences to the AWC_StartupPreferences in the Teamcenter rich client.

Procedure

1. If you have not done so already, search for and open an existing work package, and then navigate to the Process Planning page.

2. In the Process panel, expand the assembly, select the object you want to clone, and use one of the following methods.
   Note You can clone an object into the same work package or a different work package.
   
   
   Clone objects using copy and paste Search for and clone objects Clone objects from classification
   Easy Plan adds the cloned items into the selected process resource and displays a message to indicate that changes were made to the clone indications.

3. Click Sync Clone . Easy Plan updates the clone indication icons for objects in the Process panel. There are two types of clone indications in Easy Plan:
   
   One square —This icon indicates that although the object itself is not cloned, child objects under the object are cloned. You cannot click the icon to see more details about the objects.
   
   
   
   Two squares —This icon indicates that the object is a cloned object. You can click this icon to see "cloned from" and "cloned to" information.

4. Hover on a child-level clone indication icon.

            Easy Plan displays information about the cloned object on
                which you are hovering.
   

5. Click the clone indication icon and review the information.
   Easy Plan displays information about where the object was cloned from, and where the object is being cloned to.

6. Propagate changes from a master object to its clones.
