Understanding layout in the Line Balancing Constraints view

Teamcenter can calculate the layout of the boxes in the view automatically, or you can choose to place operations manually. You can also change between these two layout methods. For example, you may want to place a node in a prominent place to do some work on it. Once complete, you can choose to activate the automatic layout mechanism and Teamcenter organizes the layout, or you can choose to remain in manual layout mode, but click Refresh Layout to have Teamcenter arrange the nodes.

Note

The view layout is always temporary. Teamcenter does not store the position of the nodes.

  • Turn on the Lock Auto Layout button to let Teamcenter organize the layout of the nodes in the view. When turned on, Teamcenter automatically arranges the nodes after each operation your perform in the view, such as adding new operations or adding or removing constraints.

  • Turn off the Lock Auto Layout button to manually place the nodes anywhere in the view.

  • Click Refresh Layout to automatically organize the layout of the nodes in the view.

You specify how Teamcenter lays out newly loaded operations in automatic layout mode using two preferences:

  • MEConstraintsViewAutomaticLayoutOffAppendPositionPref This preference defines the initial position of nodes that are added to the view when automatic layout is turned off.

  • MEConstraintsViewDefaultAutomaticLayoutModePref This preference defines the initial state of the Lock Auto Layout button and whether the layout is locked by default.
