Add and manage partitions
You can create a partition scheme, add partitions, and manage partitions from either the EBOM properties page or the BOM Alignment page.
Procedure
Open a work package with either an assembly-based manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) or a usage-based MBOM, and on the Manage Work Package page, do one of the following. OptionDescription Add the partition scheme from the BOM Alignment page
Navigate to the BOM Alignment page. In the MBOM panel, select the root node, and then click Add → Partition Scheme .

In the EBOM panel, right-click the root node and select Open in New Tab. In the EBOM properties page, click Add → Partition Scheme .In the EBOM toolbar, a Partitions group is displayed. Navigate to the BOM Alignment page.
Depending on which option you selected, either the BOM Alignment page is displayed or updates with the partition name are displayed in the MBOM configuration header and a Partitions group is displayed in the MBOM toolbar.On the BOM Alignment page, in the MBOM panel, select a node to which you want to add a partition, and click Partitions → Add .
In the Partition Scheme dialog box, from the Type list, select an appropriate partition type.
In the Name text box, type a partition name, and then click Add. Parts assigned to the partition are displayed under the selected node.
(Optional) Use additional partition commands.
Add Add an additional partition to a selected node. Delete Delete an existing partition from an existing node. Find Unassigned Members or Find Unassigned Locate members unassigned to the partition in your organization and drag to assign members to the partition. Move to Partition Move a selection to another partition. Unassign from Partition or Unassign Unassign a selection from a partition. Note These commands are also available on the EBOM properties page.
