Common EBOM-MBOM workflow

The most common EBOM-MBOM workflow involves separate electronic bill of materials (EBOM), manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM), and individual plant structures.

1. A design structure created and maintained in a CAD program, such as NX, is aligned with an EBOM structure.

2. Elements from that structure are assigned to an MBOM, which maintains its own BOP.

3. MBOM elements and processes are assigned to plants, which use these elements in combination with plant-specific MBOM elements and BOPs to manufacture the final product.
