Create a PAD image under the MEPSD item

There are two methods to add an image to a MEPSD item. The first method is the recommended one.

Do one of the following:

  • Add an image in the Process Short Description section of the PSD view.

In the Process Short Description section of the PSD view, click ... beside the Illustration box.

Select the image you want to add.

    Click OK

Teamcenter creates a dataset containing the image and attaches it to the selected MEPSD item with the TC_PADPreferredImage relation.

  • Add the dataset manually.

Select the MEPSD item and choose File→New→Dataset.

In the left pane, choose PADImage as the dataset type. If you do not see this entry in the pane, click More.

Type a name for the new dataset.

Click ... to open the Import File dialog box.

In the Reference list, select the image format that you are attaching.

Select the file and click Import.

Click OK.

Open the Details view.

Select the new PAD image line.

In the Relation box, choose TC_PADImage .

Click OK.

Select the newly created dataset and click Cut.

Right-click the MEPSD item again and choose Paste Special.

Select the TC_PADPreferredImage relation and click OK. Teamcenter adds the image dataset to the MEPSD item with the correct relationship. Note You can also associate images using the TC_PADImage relation. These images are not displayed in the preview of the PSD view but are included in the PAD report.

Results

You can now view the associated image.

Note

The preferred image size is 14.4 x 14.9 centimeters. This is approximately 544 x 563 pixels.
