Create a BOM recipe
You can create a recipe that defines the search criteria used to automatically assign nodes from a source BOM, such as an engineering bill of materials (EBOM), to a target BOM, such as a manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM). This strategy reduces the time required to create or update an MBOM.
Prerequisites
The MBMEnableRecipeBasedAssignments preference must be set to TRUE.
The EBOM must be Smart Discovery indexed. For more information see Create a Smart Discovery index using Teamcenter command prompt.
Procedure
Search for and open a work package that contains a linked EBOM and MBOM, and navigate to the BOM Alignment page. The MBOM must be linked to an EBOM structure.
Enable Show Assignment State.
In the MBOM panel, select the part or assembly for which you will define the recipe.
In the Information panel, select the BOM Recipes tab. The tab displays available recipes for the selected MBOM assembly.
Select a recipe and in the BOM Recipes toolbar, click Create BOM Recipe .
Tip BOM recipes can be created for a EBOM.In the Create BOM Recipe panel, do the following.
In the Name text field, type a recipe name. In the Usage Address text box, type the usage address names of the parts you want to update from EBOM to MBOM, separated by semicolons (;). Example Copy`FLOOR MAT;CHARGER;TIRE PRESS` Tip Refer to the EBOM to determine exact usage address names. Specify other attribute values to be applied from EBOM to MBOM.Note You must specify at least one value. Use the preference MBMPropertiesForRecipeDefinition to define additional recipe BOM line properties. Click Create. In the following example, the Mfg Exterior assembly displays a Missing in Source icon . The Auto assign Exterior recipe is created, but not yet resolved, from the EBOM to the MBOM. You can now use your new recipe to auto-assign alignment from EBOM to MBOM.
