Add or remove inspection definitions

Add or remove inspection definitions from operations. These definitions are the basis for quality inspections.

Procedure

  1. If you have not done so already, search for and open an existing work package that contains operations, and navigate to the Work Instructions Authoring or Process Planning page.

  2. On another browser tab, in Active Workspace, open the control plan or bill of quality that contains the inspection definitions that you want to add.

Note

The administrator or bill of quality author must define relations between processes or operations and inspection definitions to reference the data in other tasks or downstream applications.

  1. Select one or more inspection definitions, right-click the selection, and choose Copy to copy them to the clipboard.

  2. In the Easy Plan tab, do one of the following.
If you are working on the Process Planning page, in the Process panel, select an operation. If you are working on the Work Instructions Authoring page, in the Process tab in the Assembly panel, select an operation.

Note

If you are copying inspection definitions to compound operations in a classic BOP in either page, you can also select an execution step in the Process panel or tab.

  1. In the Information panel, in the Inspection tab, click Paste as Inspection . The inspection definitions are referenced in the Inspection tab. Inspection definition properties are carried over, but are again referenced rather than cloned.

  2. To remove an inspection definition from a selected operation, click Remove . The association between the operation and the inspection definition is removed.
