Configuring execution features

You can configure Electronic Work Instructions to display execution features in steps. These features can be set to capture shop floor data, require or allow personnel to record or edit serial or lot numbers, record work progress, and allow personnel to add document attachments.

To enable all execution features, set the value of the EWI_ExecutionEnabled preference to true.

Note

You must log off and log in again after changing this value to see the results.

Data collection

You can display a Capture Data Collection panel that uses Teamcenter Data Collection Definitions (DCDs) to prompt shop floor personnel to record optional or required details such as part measurement values.

To configure data collection features:

• Add the value DataCollection to the EWI_SinglePanelLayout, EWI_TwoPanelLayout, and EWI_ThreePanelLayout preferences.

• (Optional) Edit the default properties to be displayed in the data collection table view in the EWI_DataCollectionTableColumnShown preference.

• (Optional) In the Mes0BvrDCD.CellProperties preference, edit the default properties to be displayed in the data collection list view.

Step statuses

You can display a Set Step Status panel that requires or gives personnel the option to record the work progress of a step.

Default statuses in the ewi0StepExecutionStatus LOV include Pending, In Work, Complete, and Failed. You can edit the LOV to revise these statuses and add custom statuses as needed.

To configure which custom statuses are designated complete, modify the EWI_StepExecutionStatusCompleteIndex preference.

You can provide a Collected Attachments panel that allows personnel to upload, copy and paste, or load document attachments from favorites, pinned locations, and other places to steps.

This execution feature requires no preferences but EWI_ExecutionEnabled set to true.
