Managing and tracking changes > Using the change tracker
Propagate an added line to the impacted structure
When running the change tracker, you can select a change resulting from an added line and add this line to a target structure using the Impacted section of the Change Tracker view.
Note
Incremental change must be active in the target structure before you can propagate changes.
Procedure
Select the added line in the top part of the Change Tracker view.
Do one of the following.
To add the line to the target structure manually, select a target parent line, click , and click Propagate.
To have Teamcenter find lines that are eligible to receive the change:
Click Give me suggestions. Teamcenter presents a table listing candidate lines, as well as the method which it used to find the lines.
Teamcenter uses the following methods to make suggestions:
Consumed siblings Teamcenter checks if any of the siblings of the added line exist in the target structure. If they do, then it offers the sibling’s parent in the impacted structure as a possible target to receive the change.
Existing logical assignment designator Teamcenter checks if a line in the target structure has the same logical designator.
Line already exists in target structure Teamcenter checks if the added or modified line already exists in the target structure.
In the Actions column, select the action you want to perform.
Select Propagate to update the target structure with the change. The Propagation Status columns are updated with the symbol.
Select Work in Progress. The Propagation Status columns are updated with the symbol.
Select Reviewed But Not Propagated. The Propagation Status columns are updated with the symbol.
The Propagation Status column in the upper table (the list of changes) can contain more than one action symbol. For example, if you add the same line multiple times in the target structure, you can mark one change as Reviewed But Not Propagated and the other as Work in Progress.
