Use manufacturing check out and check in

You can check out process data (operations, processes, activities, datasets, forms, work areas, and studies) from bills of procedures (BOPs), bills of equipments (BOEs), plants, plant BOPs, and shared and isolated studies. This functionality is useful in cases where you want to modify operations but not resources, or you want to add time to an individual operation without affecting station content. You can also check out assigned work areas and resources. The contents of end items, as well as consumed items and other items for which you do not have write access, are not included. This command, Manufacturing Check-Out, was previously named Process Simulate Check-Out.

Procedure

1. Right-click a process area or other preferred element (see preferences below) from the structure and choose Check-In/Out→Manufacturing Check-Out.

Note You can also select multiple nonconsecutive objects by pressing Ctrl and clicking each object in a structure.

By default, the Include Sub Hierarchies check box is selected in the Manufacturing Check Out dialog box. This option performs the check out recursively, checking out the item revisions of all the operations/processes under the selected process to which you have write access, including datasets, operation activities, and attachments such as master forms and ProcessSimulatePLCDetails. If you deselect the check box, the only objects checked out are the selected object, its datasets, and its forms. Note You can use the following preferences to define form and database check-out details.

ME_CHECHOUT_EXCLUDED_FORM_TYPES indicates which forms will not be checked out. Valid values are the pairs of form types and relations separated by a : character.

ME_CHECHOUT_EXCLUDED_DATABASE_TYPES indicates which datasets will not be checked out. Valid values are the pairs of dataset types and relations separated by a : character. By default, this preference excludes Microsoft Office dataset types.

2. To also check out assigned work areas and resources, select Include Assigned Workarea and Resource.

You can use the following preferences to define work area and resource check-out details.

MERelationTypeWorkarea defines which relations will indicate that an assigned item is a work area. The types defined here are used to assign work area objects to operations and processes, and can include custom occurrence types.

MERelationTypeUserEquipment defines which relations will indicate that the assigned item is a tool. The types defined here are used to assign equipment to operations and processes, and can include custom occurrence types.

3. (Optional) Type a unique change ID and any comments you want to make on the reason for the check out.

4. Click OK.

Teamcenter checks out the required objects. If some objects are not checked out properly, Teamcenter displays the Objects that Failed to Check-Out dialog box listing all objects that were not successfully checked out.

5. Make any necessary changes to the checked out objects and when you are finished, select the top checked-out line, right-click the selection, and choose Check-In/Out→Manufacturing Check-In.

No dialog box appears. The selected line and anything below it are checked in.
