Run the change tracker to track structure changes

You can track changes to structures using the change tracker.

Note

You can also review change notice details using the change tracker.

Procedure

  1. Select the line for which you want to track structure changes and choose Tools→Change Tracker.

  2. If it is not already selected, in the Change Tracker dialog box, select Search by effectivity.

  3. To search for incremental status changes to the structure, and use effectivity to configure the associated changes, select the Incremental change and/or Revision effectivity check boxes and click Next.

If you selected the revision effectivity check box, Teamcenter displays the Change Tracker dialog box with the current unit configuration set in the To Review box.

  1. If you selected the revision effectivity check box, specify the unit or the date from which you want to begin comparing and click Next.

Whether the change tracker sets the range according to date or unit is dependent on the type of effectivity you set on the structure. If you selected the incremental change check box, a list of status search filters is displayed.

  1. If you selected the incremental change check box, select one or more statuses to filter your search to include only structural changes with those statuses, and click Next.

  2. Select the types of change mechanism that you want to use to check for changes and click Next.

  3. (Optional) Select the owning users whose changes you want to reflect in the comparison. This filters the results down to the changes of the selected owner.

You can filter for revision effectivity and incremental change independently.

  1. (Optional) Further filter the comparison results based on status by clicking and selecting the status.

You can filter for revision effectivity and incremental change independently.

  1. Click Finish.

Teamcenter displays the Change Tracker view with all the changes listed.

Tip Parent, the last column in the Change Tracker view, displays the parent of each line. Change the order of columns to review this information.

If a change is applicable to the configured structure and took place within the range specified, it is listed in the Change Tracker view. You can click each line in the top part of the view to display additional information about the change in the Details section below it. The Details section lists:

For an addition, the line under which the change was added.

For a deletion, the line from which the line was removed.

For a moved line, the line from which the moved line was removed and the line under which the moved line is pasted.

The revision status of each selected change.

The revision effectivity of each change.

For lines with changed attributes, the value in place at the lower limit of the effectivity range of the search and the new value.

For lines with changed datasets, the dataset at the lower limit of the effectivity range of the search and the new dataset.

  1. (Optional) Group results by one or more columns.

Drag one or more column headers to the area above the table.Teamcenter reorganizes the table to display the data grouped in the order of the column headers in the list.

Ungroup the table by right-clicking the column headers in the list at the top of the table and choosing Ungroup by.
