Author a general or site recipe

Author a general or site recipe to organize processes, operations, equipment, and materials for a variety of plants and situations.

A general recipe is a general, plant-neutral recipe that can be applied to multiple manufacturing locations. A site recipe takes into consideration the specific conditions or constraints of a particular manufacturing site. You can also author a master recipe using more concrete manufacturing formulas intended for specific batch sizes at specific plant locations.

Procedure

1. If you have not already done so, create or open a General Recipe Authoring work package, and on the Manage Work Package page, click General Recipe Authoring or Site Recipe Authoring.

2. On the task page, to begin your general or site recipe with:
   A procedure, click Add Procedure. A process stage, click Add Process Stage.

3. In the procedure or process stage panel, from the Type list, choose an appropriate type, type a Name and optional Description, and then click Add. The initial procedure or process is displayed inside a gray process stage rectangle, and authoring is enabled.

4. In the process, click More … and choose a command.
   Note All commands in the ERM authoring pages include New, Search, and Classification tabs. Use the preferred option to author your recipe.
   
   The New command prompts you for a name and optional description.
   
   The Search command returns text results based on keywords and wild cards. If the results are too broad, click Filter to reduce results by properties such as type, owner, classification, and category.
   
   The Classification command lets you search for capabilities using classified result indices. You can configure ERM classification class and attributes. For more information on classifications, see Basic and Advanced Classification on Active Workspace - Usage.
   
   
   
   
   To add a procedure or process stage to the right of the selected process, click the right add icon and select Add Procedure or Add Process Stage . The new object is displayed in its own process stage.Note If available, you can also add elements above and to the left of the selected object by clicking the appropriate add icons .
   To add a parallel procedure or process stage below the selected object, click the lower add icon and again select Add Procedure or Add Process Stage . The new object is displayed in its own process stage. To add an operation to the process stage, select Add Operation . To add equipment needed to complete the process, or to add capability classification elements to the process, select Add Equipment or Add Capability. Equipment and capability classifications often include properties, which you define or modify after you select the classification.Equipment and capability classifications are displayed as properties of the process. To add material to the process, select Add Material, search for and select the material to be assigned, and click Assign. To create a conditional PERT flow, click Create Flow. Replace... (Process Stage or Procedure) To delete the process and all elements below it, select Delete.

   Adding process stages or procedures and operations require a selection from the Type list, and a Name.
   
   Add Capability and Add Equipment require that you use the Classification filter to locate the appropriate capability and equipment.

5. In an operation, click More and choose a command.
   To add capability elements to the operation, such as the minimum and maximum time the operation should take to complete, select Add Capability. Capabilities are displayed as properties of the operation. To define equipment needed to complete the operation, select Add Equipment. To add materials based on your work package formula, select Add Material and click Assign. To create conditional PERT flow, click Create Flow. To delete the operation, select Delete.

6. (Optional) Add additional objects to the processes and operations to which you have added details above.

7. (Optional) Edit your ERM recipe.

8. When satisfied with your chart, in the task's upper toolbar, click Save .
