Managing variant information when assigning and comparing

If the collaborative design contains variant information, this information is copied to the item revision to which you assign the design element or design feature. You can see this information by enabling the Variant Formula column in the structure view. When you compare the two structures, the accountability check compares the variant information on a logical basis. For example, Option1 = A AND Option2 = B is logically equivalent to Option2 = B AND Option1 = A.

Your administrator can affect the behavior of variant assignment in the following global constants:

Cpd0DEToBOMPropertyMapping and Cpd0DFToBOMPropertyMapping

Describe the mapping of variant formulas between the manufacturing bill of material and a design element or feature.

Cpd0DEPropertiesForMBOM and Cpd0DFPropertiesForMBOM

Specify the variant condition that is copied to the MBOM when assigning design elements or features.

The behavior for the comparison and propagation of variant information is determined by the values of the Mpd0CpdBomPartialMatchProperties and Mpd0CpdBomPropagableProperties global constants.
