Managing the enterprise BOP > Cloning enterprise BOP structures

Paste a duplicate object in generic BOP or product BOP

You can clone a process, operation, or partition in an enterprise BOP structure.

Procedure

  1. Copy the object in the source BOP.

  2. Choose Edit→Paste Duplicate to create a clone using the cloning rule specified by the PasteDuplicateTemplates preference or the PasteDuplicateAllowedPlantBOPTemplate preference when pasting between plant BOPs.

The Paste Duplicate command is available only when the content of the clipboard matches the target selection. You can clone:

A process if you are pasting to a partition.

An operation if you are pasting to a process.

A partition if you are pasting to a partition.

If you copy the cloned process or operation from a different generic BOP or product BOP than the target selected for pasting, Teamcenter displays a dialog box that allows you to define the reference product structure of the target so product mapping can be completed. Note You can paste a duplicate of a partition and its contents from a product BOP into a generic BOP. However, you must subsequently manually remove product-specific content (for example, resolved product assignments) from the generic BOP to ensure the generic BOP remains product-independent.
