Filter components during process planning or work instructions

You can filter consumed parts, assigned resources, and assigned work areas in the Information panel while working in the Process Planning or Work Instructions Authoring pages.

You can filter data based on attribute values and you also can apply multiple filters to your data.

Note

This topic uses parts consumed to an operation in the example.

However, you can also use this functionality to search and filter assigned resources in the Resources tab or assigned work areas in the Work Area tab.

Restrictions and limitations

The objects on which you want to search or filter must be assigned or consumed within the work package in which you are working.

Procedure

1. Search for and open a work package, and then navigate to the Process Planning or Work Instructions Authoring page.

2. If you are in the Work Instructions Authoring page do one of the following.
   In the Assembly panel, expand the structure and select an operation. In the Process panel, expand the structure and select a process.

3. If you are in the Process Planning page, in the Process panel select an operation or a process.
   Tip In this example, the Parts tab displays the number of parts consumed by the operation.

4. In the Parts tab click on the table column header on which you want to filter data. For example, you can click on the Object column header. Teamcenter Easy Plan displays a dialog box you can use to filter consumed parts or assigned components.

5. Type a value in the Contains field and then click Filter. The Parts tab updates the number of parts listed in the table after data filtering is applied. In addition, the Object column header contains a filter icon to indicate that data in the column is filtered.

6. (Optional) Click on a different column header in the Parts table and use steps 4 and 5 to apply another filter to the data in the table.

7. (Optional) In the Parts tab click on a table header that contains filtered data, and then click Clear to remove data filtering from that data column.
