Define a process plan for mixed production

You can manufacture and assemble several products in a single plant bill of process (BOP), and then manage those products in a mixed production environment.

In Easy Plan the engineering bill of materials (EBOM), the manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) and the product BOP are combined into a product group. Each product group is a product that you can assemble in mixed production.

Prerequisites

To author product groups in a mixed production work package, you must set the EP_hasMixedProductionWPAuthoringPermissions value to true.

In addition, you must add EP_hasMixedProductionWPAuthoringPermissions to the AWC_StartupPreferences in the Teamcenter rich client.

Note

Any user can author process plans in a mixed production work package.

You must have special permissions to create product groups in a mixed production work package.

Procedure

1. Navigate to the Manage Work Package page and then search for and open or create a new work package.
   Tip When you work with mixed production you must define a focused product. You can define a focused product by adding a new product group or selecting an existing product group in the work package.

   You can use the Selected Product Group to choose a different product in the work package.
   Note You must be on the Manage Work Package page to change to a different product group.

   You can use the Add button to create a new product group in the work package.

   You can use the Remove button to delete a product group from the work package.

   The left column on the Manage Work Package page displays the different products in the work package.

   The right column on the Manage Work Package page displays common data structures in the work package: the plant, the plant BOP, the production program, and the bill of equipment (BOE).

2. (Optional) To create a new product group, on the Manage Work Package page in the Selected Product Group, click Add and then do the following.
   
   In the Add Product dialog box, type the text to search and click Search.
   
   Select an engineering bill of materials (EBOM).
   
   Select a Revision Rule to associate with the EBOM.
   
   Click Add Product.

3. Click Add to create a new or add an existing product bill of process (BOP) for the product group.
   Note You must select a product BOP for each product group in the work package.

4. (Optional) Click any task tile on the Manage Work Package page to perform process planning tasks. Easy Plan navigates to the task page that you selected. The header displays the task page name, the work package name, and the current product group that is selected in the work package.
   
   Note When you work with mixed production, Easy Plan filters out all data except for the product group that you currently have loaded, except for the data on the Line Balancing page. If you want to see data for all product groups, you can do so by showing excluded assignments.

5. (Optional) To show all data regardless of the product group you have loaded, on any task page click the plant BOP configuration header and select Show excluded assignments in the Plant BOP Configuration dialog box.

6. (Optional) Navigate to the Line Balancing page and balance the line.
   Note On the Line Balancing page, Easy Plan loads data for all product groups.

7. (Optional) Click the work package name in the header to navigate to the Manage Work Package page.
   Easy Plan navigates to the Manage Work Package page for the selected work package.

8. (Optional) In the Product tile click Remove and then confirm that you want to remove the product from the work package.
   Note When you remove a product, Easy Plan also removes the product BOP that is associated to the product.

9. (Optional) To change to a different product group, click Selected Product Group and select a product group.
   Note You must be on the Manage Work Package page to change to a different product group.
