Managing the enterprise BOP > Working with tool requirements
Create a tool requirement
Procedure
In a generic or product BOP, select a process or an operation and choose Open With→Assignments.
Click the Create tool requirement button or choose Tools→Logical Assignment→Create Tool Requirement.
Teamcenter displays the Create Tool Requirement dialog box.
Enter a name for the new tool requirement.
Do at least one of the following:
Enter classification search criteria that describe the desired tool by clicking . Teamcenter displays the Classification dialog box where you can perform an ad hoc search.
Click the Search Classification Class button to access the Class/Attribute Selection Popup tree. If applicable, you can specify the system of measurement as metric, nonmetric, or both.
Double-click a class name to select it from the popup tree. If you want to search by attribute value, you must select a class that contains attributes. A row for the class is added to the classification search criteria definition table. You can add or remove a search criteria clause by clicking or on the right side of the table.
Click the name of the class in the Property Name column to list and select the desired search attribute. You can use relational operators to search for a combination of attribute values, for example, for a value range.
Click OK. Teamcenter closes the Classification dialog box and enters the search criteria into the Search Criteria box.
Enter a description for the new tool requirement.
If you enter classification search criteria, Teamcenter searches for matches to resolve the requirement. If you enter a description, you must resolve the tool requirement manually, copying and pasting a tool to the tool requirement.
Select the type of the assignment that the resolved tool will have to the parent process or operation. The types available in the list and the default selected are specified by the MERelationTypeUsedEquipment preference.
Click OK to close the dialog box and create the new tool requirement, or click Apply to create the new tool requirement but leave the dialog box open to create further tool requirements.
