Work with change notices > Running accountability checks
Run a product BOP to plant BOP accountability check
When working with a product bill of process (BOP) and a plant BOP, you can run an accountability check to compare the source and target BOP, and then review and reconcile the resulting mismatches.
An accountability check provides a quick analysis of the impact that changes to a product BOP have on a plant BOP by reporting mismatch indications based on accountability check comparison settings in the Process Planning and Line Balancing task pages. Use the Change Summary panel to review changes as separate tiles, and to propagate any preferred changes to the plant BOP. Many changes focus on operations that are missing in source and in target, as well as operation property changes and referenced elements such as activities and attachments.
Prerequisites
You must:
Have a product BOP configured in your work package and use the Smart Discovery index to store the structure hierarchy. See Create a Smart Discovery index using Teamcenter command prompt for more information.
Verify that the preference EP_ShowProductBOPInProcessPlanning is set to true in your startup preferences. If not, the product BOP is not available and you can only assign changes from the Line Balancing page.
Add the preference name EP_ShowProductBOPInProcessPlanning to AWC_StartupPreferences.
Procedure
Search for and open a work package and navigate to the Process Planning or Line Balancing task page.
If a manufacturing change notice is linked to your work package, the Track Your Work dialog box is displayed. In the Track Your Work dialog box, select a manufacturing change notice (MCN) and click Continue. MCN tracking is required to track assignment changes if you want to use the Ignore command in the Change Summary panel. If MCN tracking is not enabled, only the Propagate command is available.
From the Compare list, select a criteria for comparison. Saved setting descriptions are populated from the Advanced Accountability Check settings in Manufacturing Process Planner. You can find the saved settings in Scope tab → Available Settings group.
On the preferred task page, enable Show Allocation Indication. The assignment comparison control is enabled.
If it is not already visible, enable the Change Summary panel by clicking Show Change Summary . On the Process Planning page, change indication icons are displayed in the Product BOP and Process panels. Indications in the product BOP are displayed hierarchically. In this example, operation 00268 is assigned from the product BOP to the plant BOP , but its sibling, 000267, is not assigned. As a result, its parent, 000266, displays a partial assignment icon .On the Line Balancing page, change indication icons are displayed in the target Operations panel. The product BOP source is not visible.
(Optional) In the Change Summary panel, filter the scope of change target locations by selecting one or more elements and clicking Filter.
Scroll through the tiles to review changes to the product BOP not currently present in the target plant BOP.
Changes are displayed as separate tile notices for each plant BOP operation and its location, for example, a line or station. When you click the operation's parent location in the tile, it synchronizes the selection to the other panels. Mismatches reported include operations missing on source or target, assignments such as parts and resources, time activities, attachments such as files and documents, predecessors, and properties. Partial match properties such as revision name and variant formula are defined in the Advanced Accountability Check dialog box in Manufacturing Process Planner. You can find partial match properties in Partial Match tab → BOM Properties group. From the Change Summary panel tiles, verify your change notices.
Click Propagate to apply changes from the product BOP to the plant BOP.
Click Propagate All to apply all changes to all tiles.
Click Ignore All to disable all remaining changes in the list. Icons for ignored changes are removed from the panels and changes marked as Ignored are now green. Click Restore All to reclaim ignored change notices. Tip If you want to disregard some changes but not all, fix your preferred changes using the Propagate command, and then click Ignore All to ignore the remainder.
Note If you choose to ignore a tile while using an active MCN, and then return to the same work package without the active MCN, that tile shows up again in accountability checks. If you change your task page configurations, change summary details may be changed as well.To finish the comparison, disable Show Allocation Indication.
Change indication icons are no longer visible in the panels, and the Change Summary panel is closed.(Optional) From the Compare list, select a different comparison criteria, re-enable Show Allocation Indication, and run another product BOP to plant BOP assignment comparison.
