Classify processes and operations

You can assign processes and operations to a classified library to enrich your data with attributes and classification properties, and make it easier to locate for future reuse.

Prerequisites

You must set the Ics_classifiable_types value to MEProcess, MEProcessRevision, MEOP, and MEOPRevision to enable classification of processes and operations.

To enable the Classification column on the Process table, add the ImanItemBOPLine.bl_rev_fnd0IcsClassNames value to the EP_ProcessTreeAssemblyPlanningColumnConfiguration preference.

In addition, you must add the following preferences to the AWC_StartupPreferences in the Teamcenter rich client:

  • EP_ProcessTreeAssemblyPlanningColumnConfiguration

  • Ics_classifiable_types

See the Preferences section in the Active Workspace Administration documentation for a description of preferences and how to set them.

Procedure

  1. If you have not done so already, search for and open an existing work package that contains processes and operations, and navigate to the Work Instructions Authoring or Process Planning page.

  2. If you are on the Work Instructions Authoring page, select a process or operation, and in Editor tab, next to the process or operation name you just selected, click More ‌→ Classify.

  3. If you are on the Process Planning page, in the Process panel, select a process or operation and click More → Classify.

  4. In the Classify panel, expand the CLASSES list.

  5. (Optional) Use the keywords field to filter your search.

  6. Select one or more classes from the list and click Classify. The Summary tab now lists classification hierarchy and attribute objects you assigned to the process or operation.
