Define and apply a master recipe batch size

You can apply a batch size to a general, site, or master recipe and review the effects of synchronizing that batch size to recipe unit details and material details.

Procedure

  1. From a recipe work package with a formula and manufacturing formula already defined, navigate to the BOM Alignment page.

  2. In the Manufacturing Formula panel, click Edit and scroll the list to see editable columns. Many columns in the table can be enabled, disabled, and rearranged if you click Settings and modify the current configuration in the Arrange dialog box.

  3. Make any preferred changes to manufacturing formula column values and click Save Edits .
    Calculations are reset and displayed.

  4. In the Manufacturing Formula panel, select the root.

  5. In the manufacturing formula header, click Batch .

  6. In the Add panel, from the Type list, select Batch, and in the Name text box, type a name for your batch.

  7. In the Batch Size group:

    In the Batch Size text box, type the ideal batch size.

    In the Minimum Batch Size and Maximum Batch Size text boxes, type the lower and upper limit batch size values.

    From the Batch UOM, select a batch unit of measure.

  8. Click Add.

Results

The numbers in all visible columns in the manufacturing formula are now calculated by batch size. In the Manufacturing Formula panel header, your ideal batch size is displayed.

Tip

To see minimum and maximum batch values as well, click and hold your mouse button on the batch size.

Details are available when you click an element in the manufacturing formula and review the contents of the Batch Overview tab in the Information panel. From this tab, you can edit batch properties and size.
