What is Electronic Work Instructions?

Electronic Work Instructions offers you a web-based solution to view manufacturing work instructions on the shop floor.

Live configured data is retrieved from Teamcenter on demand including:

  • Sequenced steps and activities for which progress statuses may be optional or required.

  • Textual instructions.

  • 2D images.

  • 3D representations.

  • Animations.

  • Part and tool lists, some of which may require you to add serial or lot numbers and other part or tool information.

  • Associated documents in the Instructions and Documents tabs, including text (.txt), Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx, .mht), Excel (.xsl, .xlsx), PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx), Visio (.vsd, .vsdx), or Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format. If your organization uses execution features, you can attach reference documents in these formats to steps. Note Only Microsoft Office 2013 and 2016 versions of the above applications are supported.

  • World wide web URL addresses that begin with http:// or https:// and include URL parameters.

With an internet browser, you can view up-to-date information when you need it. You can use Electronic Work Instructions on your tablet or mobile device.

Electronic Work Instructions uses many of the same features as Teamcenter Active Workspace. The help covers some Active Workspace features, but not all. For more information, see the Active Workspace Help.
