Synchronizing structures

The synchronization command is responsible for synchronizing objects and attributes. The Synchronize option will only be available for previously linked elements. You can perform a synchronization on any connected element. The target structure (plant BOP or BOE) gets synchronized based on the source structure (BOE or plant BOP) respectively.

The synchronization will lead to the following:

• Creating missing elements in the target.

• Copying of attributes from source line to target line.

• Copying of attributes from source line to target line.

• For every object in the source that is not present in the target, a new object is created in target and the object in source is linked to the newly created target object. If the hierarchy below the source synchronization object is not present in the target, then the synchronization process will also create those levels in target. Note In the case of a station, it will also be consumed to station process.

• If you chose the option to delete obsolete twins, then elements with no links in the target will be deleted.

To synchronize a newly created plant BOP and BOE, do the following:

1. Load the structure, select the plant root, right-click and chose Synchronize Process Plant→Synchronize Structure and then click OK.

The Synchronize Structures dialog box appears.

2. From here, you can switch between the source and target objects and according to source object, it will synchronize the structure.
