Review change notice changes and send updated BOP data to ERP
As the last step in a typical process involving an engineering change notice (ECN or CN), the lead planner reviews the changes, validates the data, changes the change notice status, and sends updated BOP data to the ERP/MES. This example illustrates such a scenario.
Procedure
If you have not already done so, open the Collaboration Context Tree and BOP views to which the MCN was linked and set.
Right-click the top BOP line, choose Change Management→Set Change Notice, and apply the appropriate change notice.
Right-click the top BOP line again and choose MES→Validate for Execution.
In the Validate MES Data dialog box, the Structures to Validate list shows the change notice and structure to be validated.
In the Validity Checks to Perform list, select the Check Object Validation check box and any validity checks you want to perform, and click OK.
If an MES Data Validation Result view is displayed, open the view and review and correct any validation errors, modifying them as necessary and validating until no errors are reported.
In the Collaboration Context view, right-click the collaboration context and choose MES→Release to Execution Plan.
The workflow is initiated. In the Release to Production dialog box, the collaboration context is displayed as the execution plan, ReleaseToProduction as the workflow, and the change notice as the change object.
- Click OK.
In your Home folder, the released data is displayed as an application interface object with a date stamp, and within it is a request object.
